A woman’s trip to the bathroom turned into a traumatic event after she spotted a snake moving inside the toilet bowl after she finished showering.

Terezinha Barbosa revealed she had a meltdown when she hopped out of the shower and saw the reptile moving inside the toilet just seconds before she was about to use it.

The 36-year-old woman then reportedly took out her phone and recorded the animal who she said was restlessly trying to break free from the tiny toilet space.

She reportedly went viral after she shared the video showing what she found in the bathroom.

Terezinha said: “I was so scared. At the time, I shouted for my son to go to the bathroom and help me.

“We think it was a baby water snake. But if it is a baby, it remains to be seen where the mother is.

“We never imagined that something like this would happen to us.

“The snake was moving nonstop, I imagine it was trying to get out of the toilet.”

Terrified over the bizarre find, Trezinha said she later killed the reptile and threw it in a sewer.

She added she plans to disinfect her house and hire a pest control service to get rid of other possibly present insects and rodents.

Terezinha added she also plans to apply caustic soda, also known as sodium hydroxide, to the sewer to prevent ‘future unwanted guests’.

She said: “I decided to record it so that people are alert, especially in homes with children. Imagine if something worse had happened.”
