Iran Battered By Fish Falling From Sky

This is the moment baffled Iranians find themselves under attack from a bizarre full-scale aerial bombardment of fish.

The weird battering brought traffic to a standstill in Yasuj, Boyer-Ahmad province, 100 miles from the coast, on 4th May.

It came just weeks after Iran was blasted by Israeli drones and missiles on 19th April.

Footage posted on social media platform X by one motorist, which has since gone viral, shows him picking up a still-alive flapping fish from the tarmac.

Meanwhile, other drivers are seen trying to drive around the fish as they drop from the sky onto the road.

It is understood that the fish had been whipped up into the air by a huge sea storm in the Persian Gulf and dropped onto the city when the tempest lost its power.

One social media user named as ‘Mario Nawfal’ explained: “The unusual phenomenon is believed to have been caused by a tornado picking the fish up from the sea and lifting them into the sky, where they later rained back down.”

Another commentator noted: “The ocean has provided the people of Iran with a fish supper tonight.”

Others described it as a “biblical” phenomenon, with one commentator saying: “It’s raining fish, Hallelujah.”

But some also suggested it might be a fake pointing out that a video in 2009 showed aubergines falling from the sky in Tehran that turned out to be a fake and saw five people arrested.

It was alleged that the man filming was a fishmonger who might have been trying to advertise the fact that he had fish for sale although it is known that fish can fall from the sky.
