A baffled dog owner set up a spycam in his bedroom to see if he could discover why his bedroom ends up in such a mess whenever he leaves home.

The American TikToker could not work out why a fresh pair of shorts always appeared on his pillows or why his duvet was so messed up.

So to crack the case, businessman John Patrick Friend, 25, used a hidden camera and his pet pooch Hank emerged as a prime suspect.

John – from Denver, Colorado, USA – explained: “I kept finding pairs of shorts on my bed and my pillows messed up whenever I left the house, so I decided to set up my GoPro and see what my dog was up to.”

When he arrived home and saw the video, John was amazed to see Hank making straight for the closet.

After sniffing out a clean pair of shorts, he carries them to the bed where he snuggles down with them on the pillows.

John found Hank – a German Shepherd cross – had become a huge star when he posted the video on TikTok and got 6.1 million views.

One TikToker, named ‘muuullyyy’, said: “He just missed his daddy!! Omg, so precious.”

While another one ‘V’, said: “Hahaha yeah dogs do that when they miss your scent”

John said: “TikTok loved the video, instantly started blowing up.

“Everyone thought it was really cute and even a few of the people who got his litter mates commented so that’s cool to see that it reached his siblings somehow.

“Small world type of things, I went to FSU and got him from a guy there, Hank was one of 10 pups I chose from a bathtub.”

Despite his mischievous nature, John thinks that Hank “is very smart, loyal, friendly and playful” and “the best dog” he could have asked for.
