Just seconds later the child can be seen heading towards the balcony railing, and dropping the one-month-old puppy on the busy road, as stunned locals watch.

A man can be seen standing next to the child but making no effort to prevent the act.

The video emerged on social media platforms later that day, triggering an NGO People For Animals (PFA) volunteer to file a complaint.

It stated that the child, allegedly aged between nine and 10 years old, picked up the puppy from a nearby bush and threw it mercilessly off the building.

It additionally stressed the importance of presenting the child before the juvenile court for assessment of his mental state.

“The reason for such brutal actions against puppies is hatred spewed on the society’s Whatsapp group.

“Kids nowadays have phones and get easily influenced by adults who indulge in fear-mongering. And spread hatred towards stray animals throughout the day.”

PFA Trustee Ambika Shukla expressed concern over seeing a child devoid of any emotions, and said. “It reveals a psychopathic tendency that must be dealt with urgently lest we find a monster in our midst.
