The disturbing video depicts a young child suffering injuries after getting brutally attacked by a wild monkey on the street.
Surveillance camera footage captured in front of a shop in the town of Gangoh, in Saharanpur, District in India’s state of Uttar Pradesh, showed several children running away from the animal on Sunday, 10th March.
But just several moments later the monkey can be seen placing its focus on one of the children and savagely pinning him to the ground as the boy attempted to flee.
Onlookers watched in awe as the boy desperately tried to free himself from the monkey’s grip, but failed to intervene. A motorcyclist can be seen witnessing the entire attack and just driving away.
Meanwhile, the boy managed to rise from the ground and run away, but the monkey continued to chase after him.
Indian media revealed that the child suffered injuries following the attack. It was not disclosed whether he was treated by medics.
Following the incident, locals reportedly urged forest department units to seize the monkey. Police said they have not found the monkey yet.
According to reports, the monkey had been wandering the area for several days, assaulting individuals.
