Hundreds of sheep have narrowly escaped becoming a grilled meal after their sheep pen suddenly caught fire.
Smartphone footage recorded in the city of Huainan, in China’s eastern province of Anhui, portrayed the devastated sheep pen after it was caught in the fire on 3rd March.
In another video clip, the scared sheep were depicted standing still amid the chaos, seemingly trying to avoid moving to prevent being harmed by the fire.
A third video showed firefighters working tirelessly to extinguish the flames and save the sheep trapped inside the burning structure.
There were reportedly more than 600 sheep stranded in the pen at the time the blaze emerged.
Datong Firefighting said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “On the afternoon of 3rd March, a large sheep pen suddenly caught fire in Panji District, Huainan City.

“There were many sheep in the sheep pen. After arriving at the scene firefighters immediately launched rescue operations in order to prevent the fire from expanding.
“After the unremitting efforts of the rescuers, the fire in the sheep pen was basically extinguished.
