Wrestling-Mad Pooch Gets Ringside Seat

This is the moment a wrestling-mad pooch shows which fighter he is barking at a pro bout in Mexico.

The bizarre footage – which has since gone viral – was posted on TikTok to show just how wuff some fans like their ring action.

The dog – which looks like a German Shepherd type – was filmed at a showdown between grapplers Sam Adonis and Gringo Loco, according to local media.

As one of the wrestlers taunts the crowd the dog follows his every move as he stands on his hind legs to see over a crash barrier.

Then as the grappler whips up the crowd by making a cut-throat gesture, his canine fan gets carried away and barks furiously.

The footage was shared online by TikToker ‘detrasdelluchador’ who said: “When I die, I reincarnate as a dog and I go to a Lucha Libre AAA event.”

At the time of writing, the first clip had notched up nearly a million views and over 125,000 likes.

Netizens have fallen in love with the dog, who has not been named, with thousands of comments left by watchers fawning over the pup.

One netizen said “we all love the little dog who likes wrestling”, while another added “I love him”.

A third said “I love you puppy wrestling fan”, and another said “Get him a Lucha mask and get him in the ring”.

Lucha libre means ‘freestyle wrestling’ in Spanish and it has developed into a unique type of wrestling over the last century, known for the wrestlers’ colourful masks.

The sport gained international attention in the 2006 sports comedy film Nacho Libre starring Jack Black as Ignacio, a Catholic friar and fan of lucha libre who secretly worked as a wrestler to earn money for an orphanage.
