Safari Tourist Watches Big Cats Make Out On Villa Doorstep

This is the moment a guest at a luxury eco wildlife resort in Brazil comes face to face with a wild jaguar sitting on a doorstep at his GBP 1,000-a-night lodge.

The amazing footage was filmed as the VIP Caiman resort set in a vast estate close to Brazil’s border with Paraguay.

Flying teacher Otavio Martignago had stopped for lunch during a wildlife safari when his group spotted the big cat lounging about at one of the estate lodges.

As the big cat yawned and stretched, it got up and padded along the verandah before meeting up with a second jaguar.

The big cat couple then walked off but as Otavio explained that was just the beginning of their extraordinary show.

He told Newsflash: “In Caiman, there is the main headquarters (which is fenced) and two other private lodges (which are not fenced), all within the 53,000-hectare area. These lodges are the Cordilheira Lodge and the Baiazinha Lodge.

“The footage of the jaguar couple was taken at the Cordilheira Lodge during a safari we did right after lunch, around 4:30 pm approximately.

“When we arrived at the location, I found the female jaguar at the door of one of the lodge rooms.

“Shortly after, we saw the male, who got startled by the presence of the car near the barbecue area.

“He made a leap, and I was impressed.

“We spent hours observing this jaguar couple. They even entered the water to cool off, copulated, and put on a show for us to film and capture in photos. It was a privilege.”

Otavio added: “Because there were no guests at the Cordilheira Lodge that week, everything was quiet.

“The jaguars came very close, seeking shade and fresh water.”
