This is the adorable moment a little turtle undergoes a CT scan at a vet’s clinic where it was hospitalised after its owner could not bear seeing it fall ill.

Phone footage shows the little turtle lying on its back, with its feet spread up in the air as it goes into the machine at an animal hospital in Shijiazhuang, in China’s northern Hebei Province.

The person who shared the video on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, who was not named, said it was their friend who brought their pet turtle to the hospital for a CT scan.

They said that the turtle, purchased for only CNY 5 (GBP 0.5) and kept for over two years, was diagnosed with white eye disease and pneumonia.

The CT scan itself cost CNY 600 (GBP 66), and with hospitalisation and fluid therapy. The total expenses exceeded CNY 1,000 (GBP 110).

The turtle has since made a full recovery and has been discharged.

After watching the video, some netizens commented that the turtle seems to be living a better life than themselves.

One user titled ‘Lin Gangan’ wrote: “I’ve been coughing for a month, hesitant to get a CT scan, just getting injections. I’m not even as brave as a CNY-5 turtle!”

User ‘Deng Nuan Xia Liang’ commented: “How did this doctor manage not to laugh?”

And ‘Gong Daxue’ said: “It’s so cooperative that it doesn’t move at all.”
