A farmer’s attempt to help his lambs stay extra warm by lighting a fire backfired when two of them ended up burning off a chunk of their woolly coats.
Video footage after the farmer had beaten out the flames shows the two lambs having run back to the flames with the rest of the flock and once again nestling up close to the fire.
The blaze had been started by the owner of the flock in a field in the northeastern Chinese province of Liaoning. He had swept up the remains of the food to start the blaze.
Despite the burned patches on their fur, the two lambs appear undisturbed as they nestle with the rest of the flock enjoying the warmth from the blaze.
However, the large blackened patches will certainly no longer be able to keep out the cold in the snow-covered region. It is unclear if they had been too close or if a spark had ignited the wool.
But for the moment, the entire flock seems content as they enjoy the warmth from the still-burning fire pit.
