Lava continues to flow out of one of Hawaii’s most active volcanoes as several vents continue to erupt within its caldera.

Striking footage shows the hot liquid pouring out of Kilauea‘s vents on the the western side of the downdropped block within its summit caldera.

Experts said the roughly east-west trending active vents span approximately 0.5 miles and have lava fountain heights of up to about 32 feet.

Pahoehoe lava flows originating from these vents extended north and westward onto the Halema’uma’u crater floor, creating a mesmerizing natural spectacle.

Previously, geologists had embarked on a risky overflight to monitor its activity and later collected lava samples.

Notably, the area north of the eruptive vents has become perched about 15 feet higher than the surrounding ground surface, a phenomenon apparent in the foreground of the video, with a geologist providing scale.
