These images show a gold bracelet that was reduced to pieces after her pet alpaca had a good munch on it.
The incident took place in the city of Shenyang, in north-eastern China’s Liaoning Province, on 7th August.
The Alpaca’s owner, named only as Ms Mu in local media reports, shared the footage on Douyin, which is what TikTok is called in China, where it quickly made the rounds.
Ms Mu had placed her gold bracelet on a table but her pet alpaca apparently mistook it for food.
She thankfully noticed the animal munching on the bracelet before it could swallow it all and retrieved some of it from its jaws.
But not before it swallowed some of it, prompting its owner to take it to a vet.
The vet reportedly said that the animal would be fine and would eventually excrete the remaining pieces of the bracelet.
The bracelet, as can be seen in the images, was reduced to crunched-up lumps of gold.
Chinese media speculated that there was only a small amount of gold in the bracelet, which is why the animal was able to chew it up so easily.
