Group’s Camping Trip Ruined As Strong Winds Blow Their Tent Off The Ground

A group of outdoors lovers’ camping trip turned into chaos as strong winds lifted their tent off the ground and sent them flying nearly a dozen feet up in the air.

Phone footage shows the group of adult men and women trying to hold down the rest of their belongings when a sudden gust of wind blew the tent off the ground in Chengdu, in south-western China’s Sichuan Province.

The video, shared on Douyin, TikTok’s Chinese version, on 16th February, shows the tent spinning in circles above their heads as if it was being carried up by a tornado.

In the background, a mixture of laughter and screaming could be heard as the group desperately hung on to what they could so the rest of their stuff would not fly off.

The scene attracted widespread attention on Douyin, with many users poking fun at the group’s lack of luck.

And ‘Cold-blooded. iron hand’ said: “[Setting up a Tent] 1. Tents should preferably be set up on firm, flat ground. Avoid camping on riverbanks and dry riverbeds.

“2. The tent entrance should face away from the wind, and the tent should be far from slopes with rolling stones.

“3. To prevent the tent from being flooded during rain, dig a drainage ditch directly beneath the edge of the tent’s canopy.

“4. Use large stones to weigh down the four corners of the tent. 5. Ensure proper air circulation inside the tent, and take precautions to prevent fires when cooking inside.

“6. Before going to sleep at night, check to ensure all fires are extinguished.”
