This is the bizarre moment a giant rat pleasantly climbs on a supermarket’s bread shelf as customer filming the situation tries to chase it away with his leg – in vain.
The incident took place in an unnamed store in the city of Ananindeua in the northern Brazilian state of Para on March 19.
Video shows the customer approaching the rodent while carefully trying to scare it away, but the rat appears not to be intimidated by the man’s presence and continues to climb one of the shelves where the bread is stored.
The Paraense Supermarkets Association reportedly clarified that the supermarket in question is not associated with the institution.
It is unclear if the customer informed the supermarket workers for the rat’s presence.
The 13-munute video shared on X, formerly Twitter, got over 25k views.
