This is the moment a woman holding a lamb around the neck on a farm is suddenly bashed flat on her face by a mother sheep defending the youngster.

The woman at the time was making a joke about having sheep’s head soup when she suddenly had the tables turned as she was not flat.

The video was shot by somebody standing on the other side of the fence at the farm in Ordos. One of the 12 major subdivisions of the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia.

It lies within the Ordos Plateau of the Yellow River and is mainly a rural community although it is administered as a prefecture-level city.

The video shows a woman holding the lamb presumably checking if it is okay and holding it around the neck so that it cannot get away while she examines it.

But then the adult sheep runs up behind her and smacks her head first on the bottom, sending her flying forward and allowing the lamb to escape.

Online commentators like ‘Sister Tan’ said: “It’s not going to be sheep’s head soup. It’s going to be mutton kebabs”

And user ‘River Pond Moonlight Tang Jincheng’ said: “Remember to carry a shield when raising sheep.”

While the user ‘Anxia’ added: “The sheep parent said let go of my lamb.”
