Ralf Schumacher has told how saddened and outraged he is after the fireworks caused the death of a pregnant deer on his farm.

The Former Formula 1 star posted a photo of the dead albino deer, which he said was pregnant, on 2nd January.

He accused the German energy company RWE by saying: “I wish the employees of the plant security department@rwe.globaland the group a happy new year.

“Thanks to their employees, who set off some extremely strong firecrackers right outside my farm, which is 5 km away, the animal unfortunately died.

“Not to mention the panic of the horses, ponies, pigs and many other poor animals. You can be proud of yourself!”

However, the company denied the accusation and a spokesman for the RWE group told local media in response: “We have read Mr. Schumacher’s post and take the allegations made in it very seriously.

“We also regret that the animal died. In principle, it would be a massive violation of our regulations to set off fireworks during an operation; Of course, that also applies to New Year’s Eve.

“According to our findings, neither RWE employees nor employees of partner companies were at the alleged location between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.

“In addition, to our knowledge, firecrackers were not set off by RWE or partner employees anywhere else.”

The spokesperson added: “Early in the evening, young people with cars and firecrackers were found near the alleged location and were told that entering the RWE premises was not permitted.

“Unfortunately, we can no longer clarify whether there is a connection here.”

However, Schumacher insisted on his claims and told local media: “My employees observed that members of the factory security set off fireworks before closing time at 9 p.m.

“This is incomprehensible to me as it is obvious that there are animals just 20 metres away. Every student knows that you should not handle fireworks near a farm.

He added: “It is important to me that RWE ensures that an event like this never takes place on my doorstep again.

“That’s why I’m relieved that RWE has agreed to take this incident seriously.

“There are so many other places there where you wouldn’t put animals in danger.

“For my part, I deeply mourn the loss of one of my wild animals who was pregnant at the time of his death. It’s just tragic.”

Just recently, Schumacher hinted that his brother Michael may never fully recover from the mysterious skiing accident the F1 legend suffered 10 years ago after admitting that “nothing is like it used to be” despite high-tech medical treatment.

Schumacher, who won six F1 Grand Prix, emphasised that Michael had been more than just his older brother.

The former F1 driver admitted: “I miss the Michael of the old days. Life is unfair from time to time.

“Michael was very lucky throughout his life. But then there was this tragic accident.”

The 48-year-old entrepreneur and pundit added: “Fortunately, advanced medical science provides many opportunities. However, nothing is like it used to be.”

He told local media: “Michael wasn’t only my brother. When we were kids, he was also my coach and mentor. He taught me literally everything about kart racing.”

He said: “There may be an age gap of seven years, but he was always by my side. We raced together, we practised overtaking manoeuvres and everything that matters in motorsports.”

The former Jordan and Williams driver underlined: “He passed on all the different things he had already internalised. I had the honour to learn from the best.”
