A man showed off the unique aquarium he built inside his house, consisting of a set of transparent pipes installed across a wall.
The unnamed pet owner drew widespread attention on social media after he shared footage of his extraordinary creation filmed at his home in Deyang, in south-western China’s Sichuan Province.
The video shows how the DIY enthusiast constructed a unique fish tank using transparent pipes that allow dozens of gold and other colourful fish to swim up and down the wall.
The innovative design incorporates dual-pump filtration within two top PVC pipes and even features a “cleaner fish” to maintain the cleanliness of the pipes, the man told local media.
He had arranged the pipes into a maze-like structure, providing a stimulating environment for the fish as well as a mesmerizing view through the clear plastic.
The innovation later went viral on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, boasting more than 1.1 million likes and over 1.1 million shares.
One user titled ‘cytochrome’ commented: “I once said fish could be transported by pipe, and my high school geography teacher didn’t believe me.”
Another user titled ‘Centerless’ said: “If I built this in the bathroom, I don’t have to bring my phone anymore.”
And user ‘Zhang Xiaochuan’ wrote: “Daily activities of fish: up and down the highway.”
