Hungry Bruin Rips Farm Calf To Pieces

This is the terrifying moment a hungry bear rips a farm calf to pieces and drags away a huge chunk of the carcass to feast on.

The brutal example of raw nature emerged in footage shot in remote Las Auras village. In the Colombian department of Quindio, and shared online on 4th February.

The clip shows the bear chewing at a calf it has apparently just killed while a farmer looks on.

Then the beast, understood to be a spectacled bear, uses its powerful jaws to tear off a massive chunk of the calf’s flank.

One of the farmers can then be heard whistling at the bear, which stops and looks defiantly at them before continuing its slow retreat into the forest with its prize.

The farmers whistle twice more, with the bear stopping and looking at them each time before the footage ends.

The region is reportedly known for its coffee production and locals are said to be concerned at the presence of the bear, said to have attacked other livestock.

The owner of the farm, named in local media as Hugo Sabogal, said the bear had attacked a pregnant cow two weeks ago.

Locals reportedly fear that the bear might attack people and have asked wildlife officials to intervene.
