This footage shows a giant 660-lb monster fish that was found washed up on a beach in Brazil.

The footage shows a man pulling the massive fish along the beach on the back of a trailer.

The fish, from the Mero species, also known as a groupers, and ‘Giant of the Seas’ according to local media, weighed around 300 kilogrammes (660 lbs), and was found on Ajuruteua Beach in Braganca, in the Brazilian state of Para.

A group of local fishermen and residents reportedly found the fish dead on the beach.

Locals said that it got stuck on the beach due to low tide and ended up dying.

It is unclear what happened to the fish after the end of the clip.

It is also currently unclear what kind of grouper it was, although some Atlantic goliath groupers are known to reach over 800 lbs in weight and measure up to 8 feet long.

They were once so overfished in the south-eastern United States that the government considered listing them as an endangered species.

Brazilian media also said that the fish is threatened with extinction.

They are listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.
