California firefighters sprang into action to rescue a pair of deer trapped amidst metal bars within a gated community.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, in an Instagram video released on August 29, 2023, documented their response to the incident in Westlake Village, California.

The trapped deer were caught between metal bars on opposing sides of a mechanical gate.

The footage showcased firefighters deftly employing pry tools to create enough space for the deer to slip through. This operation successfully averted a dire situation for the animals. Both deer were eventually freed from their entanglement, thanks to the concerted efforts of the fire department.

The fire department wrote: “LACoFD Engine and Patrol 144 in Westlake Village were able to assist two deer stuck in a sticky situation.”

“Thankfully, LACoFD firefighters had the necessary resources to assist and make a difference in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of these two deer.”
