This is the incredible moment a curious stray pup plays with a robot dog during a four-day tech festival on a university campus.

The rare scene was filmed outside IIT Kanpur, located near the industrial city of Kanpur, in India’s state of Uttar Pradesh, amidst the annual ‘Techkriti’ fest that was held from 14th to 17th March.

One of the technological creations that was presented by participants was a robotic dog, which caught the interest of a real-life stray that approached it with curiosity.

Phone footage captured their interaction on the grass as the live dog attempted to engage with the robot designed by Muks Robotics.

It playfully ran around the machine which attempted to reciprocate its moves.

Other dogs could also be seen curiously circling the duo, trying to get a sniff of the newcomer.

Their mechanical counterpart eventually flopped over, which spelt a comical end for their encounter.

The clip was later shared on Instagram by Dr Mukesh Bangar. Founder, and CEO of Muks Robotics, with the caption: “Funny incident happens with robot dog vs real dog.”

Many netizens were seemingly amused by the sight. As one user titled ‘dogsofmadras’ commented: “He’ll go back and tell his friends but they won’t believe his story!”

And ‘the_nirupam’ wrote: “at the end [of the day]…..dogs are dogs mechanical or real haha”
