This baffling footage has been shared online by a puzzled man who could not explain what fish were doing coming out of the pond and flopping across the road.

The man said that at first glance he thought it was frogs, but then he realised it was fish that were coming out of the water and crawling over the mud and concrete to get to the other side.

But the man shared the footage in order to find out why, so far with no clear answer.

The video reportedly was shot at Zhaoqing, a prefecture-level city in China’s Guangdong Province on 21st April.

The man said: “It had been raining heavily, and all told, I saw at least 30 fish flopping out of the water and then flicking their tails in order to travel in a line across the road.”

Online commentators like ‘Lei Jingui’ said: “This kind of fish is not delicious. But it is a very healthy fish with a lot of energy, as you can see.”

And user ‘Tibetan Lingyang’ said: “Curiosity killed the fish.”

While the user ‘Xinbao Loves Food’ added: “Is this fish edible?”
