The bizarre footage captures police officers standing on cots holding an unconscious leopard that died during a neutralisation attempt.

Footage recorded in the city of Sambhal, in India’s state of Uttar Pradesh showed police officers and forest department crews capturing the leopard in a house on Thursday, 22nd February.

A second video depicted the officers standing on top of the cots holding the dead animal after it died during the capture.

Indian media revealed that the leopard entered a home in the Rasulpur Dhatra village, prompting the family to run for their lives.

After they hid themselves and alerted the police, the specialist team reportedly came on-site to deal with the beast.

After three-hour-long efforts, the leopard became trapped in a net which was later flipped by cops who stood on it.

Unable to withstand the weight, the leopard reportedly succumbed to its injuries and died.

One of the officers, identified as Anuj Chaudhary. Was injured during the neutralisation operation after the leopard attacked him with its paw.

He was immediately admitted to a local hospital and treated for the injuries.

The video of the capture went viral after it was shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
