The distressing video shows an angered cow tearing through a huge crowd on the street as terrified witnesses run for their lives.

Smartphone footage shows the loose animal tripping on police vehicles as it brutally gored people in the city of Nanzhang County, in the city of Xiangyang, in China’s northwestern Hubei province.

The cow, said to have escaped from a farm where it faced slaughter, can be seen charging at random passersby and pinning them down to the ground on 24th January.

Police revealed that their officers rushed on-site after the incident was reported. They reportedly shot the cow to death. No police officers were injured during the process.

When asked about the incident, one witness told Chinese media: “I saw many people running this way. They were frightened after the cow began attacking people.”

Another one added: “The cow ran away and injured many people.”

The video triggered many netizens to share their thoughts in the comment section, after it posted on China’s version of TikTok, Douyin, later that day.

Douyin user ‘abcdef’ said: “What a desire to stay alive.”

User ‘Storm’ commented: “There have been a lot of crazy cows recently. Yesterday one also shot to death.”

And ‘Niuniu2166989’ added: “Revenge on humanity.”
