This is the dramatic moment an out-of-control bull goes on a wild rampage in a city after it escaped from a transport lorry and began attacking pedestrians.

Terrified citizens in Jaboticatubas, Brazil, ran for their lives when the bull suddenly broke free on Monday, 17th June.

One video shows the rampaging animal charging at a man in the street who tried to lasso it and he escaped by a hair as he hid behind a parked car.

Loud screams and the sound of screeching wheels could be heard in the background as the bull ran into the middle of the street next to the city square.

As the animal raged on the road, it wound up slamming into a parked car so hard that it caused it to jolt up and set off its alarm.

A second clip shows the bull staring down a group of bystanders moments before it charged at them as well.

People scattered left and right in panic, trying to dodge the 2,000 lbs of furious bovine.

Some who were braver than others attempted to capture it several times without success.

A woman who witnessed the scene, not named in local media, said: “This is worse than a bullfight!”

Finally, an off-duty police officer who happened to be nearby had to shoot it dead in the central square, as seen in a third video.

Witnesses said that the officer “remained calm and careful about the safety” of the public and asked for the area to be cleared before shooting.

Initially, there were seven shots, but the animal was still not controlled. The officer fired one more shot, hitting the bull in the head.

Police said at least two vehicles parked on the street were damaged, a car and a motorcycle. The latter vehicle belongs to the police officer responsible for the shots that brought down the animal.

Additionally, one person sought hospital care with minor injuries after falling and getting hurt while running to escape the bull.

No other injuries have been reported.
