This is the bizarre moment a zoo keeper and a large ostrich roughing up and chasing each other around the enclosure to the astonishment of visitors.

Phone footage captured by one baffled zoo goer shows the keeper being “attacked” by an ostrich in Heze, in eastern China’s Shandong Province.

In the video, shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. On 18th February, the zookeeper was seen being tackled by the ostrich.

They remained lying on the ground while the ostrich vigorously flapped its wings and kicked them with its powerful legs.

After getting a few ‘hits’ in, the ostrich suddenly turned and escaped, allowing the keeper to then chase after it, seemingly taunting them.

As the zookeeper managed to get up, they grabbed a large broom and ran after the ostrich.

Zoo staff were quick to explain the situation by stating the following day that the zookeeper was fine and that they share a playful relationship with the ostrich, often joking around with no harm done.
