This is the roar nature moment when a hungry tiger sets its sights on a herd of cattle at an Indian wildlife reserve.

Awe-struck visitors driving through the reserve in Madhya Pradesh, central India, gasp in amazement in phone footage of the encounter.

As the cattle move down a track through the jungle at the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve the big cat pounces as it sprints from the left-hand treeline.

A child can be heard gasping in shock as the tiger roars while it gives chase.

The tiger then leaps across the road and disappears into the undergrowth chasing down the fleeing cattle as the footage comes to an end.
