Too Fast Cyclist Runs Over Monitor Lizard

This is the moment a speeding cyclist runs over a monitor lizard.

A Reddit user, named only as Suthan, told local media that he was walking at Gardens by the Bay nature park in Singapore, when he witnessed the incident on 11th February.

The footage shows a biker driving past the monitor lizard which already started crossing the path.

But as the animal moves, a second speeding biker approaches and runs over it before speeding off.

A woman in the background can be heard saying: “Careful, careful!”, as the lizard hides in a bush across the path.

It is unknown whether the biker stopped to check on the animal after the incident.

The 23-year-old Suthan told local media: “The cyclist is very irresponsible. He didn’t need to go that fast.

“What if he hit a kid? I think the lizard will recover because they are hardy creatures. Let this be a lesson for the cyclist to not ride that fast.”

A Gardens by the Bay spokesperson told local media they urge cyclists to adapt their speed due to the animals present in the area.
