A teenager seen here forcing a cat to smoke a cigarette has apologised after she was accused of animal abuse by the netizens.

The 18-year-old girl from Indonesia, who has not been named, can be seen sitting on a bench and placing the lit cigarette in the cat’s mouth.

She then takes the cigarette out of the animal’s mouth and places it in her own mouth.

She then puffs the smoke into the cat’s face before it runs away.

One X user ‘MAKE FRIENDS’ said: ” It’s sad that wearing a hijab means you’re Muslim, Prophet Muhammad was disappointed to see your behaviour, because cats were Prophet Muhammad’s favourite animal.”

While ‘rasya boyka’ wrote: “Stupid girl. Wow, she doesn’t really have anything smarter to do.”

And ‘Viantyara’ commented: “The true definition of an idiot. More animal than the animal.”

According to reports, faced with backlash and threats from the outraged netizens, followed by a visit from police for animal abuse, she issued a public apology.

The girl said: “I apologise to everyone and all animal lovers. I was just joking and had no intention to harm any animal.”
