Escaped Steers Shot Dead In Bull Run

This is the terrifying moment three bulls burst out of a Spanish bull run after charging a fence as they chase a runner.

The escaped steers were later shot dead by police marksmen after goring a farmer trying to recapture them.

The incident took place in the municipality of Cortes y Graena, in the Spanish province of Granada, on Saturday, 12th August, at around 2:30 pm.

The carnage began when one chased runner leapt onto a metal fence to escape a charging bull’s horns.

As he swings off, the ground footage of the escape shows one bull smashing into the fence with its head, knocking it off its hinges.

Then as it flees, two others chase after it and escape as well.

Locals called in Civil Guard police who then tracked the three-year-old bulls for two hours deciding they were too dangerous to recapture.

The injured farmer was transferred first to the Guadix Hospital, and later to a hospital in Granada.

There have been no updates on his condition.

The tradition of bull running in Spain is controversial, with critics arguing that it is cruel and inhumane, as the bulls are subjected to stress, injury, and often death.

Fans however defend it as a cultural heritage and a way to test bravery.
