This is the moment a boy teases a baby chimp through a glass by offering it a drink with adults laughing at the trick.

The video of the incident was filmed in the Chinese coastal province of Jiangsu, and shows a schoolboy sipping on his drink while being watched by the thirsty baby chimp.

He then reverses the drink straw and offers it to the ape that puckers its lips to try and get a sip as well with the boy smiling at the stunt.

The boy repeated it one more time and the chimp’s reaction was the same except that this time it realised it was being teased, and looking upset, it then left to look for mum.

The chimpanzee is a species of great ape native to the forests and savannahs of tropical Africa.

The video that posted on Douyin, China’s version of Tiktok received 59,000 likes. 98,000 shares, and 8576 comments.

A user ‘Soft model’ commented: “The chimp: I need to find my mother.”

While ‘K’ commented: “It even smiled in embarrassment when it realized you were making fun of it.”

And ‘,-‘ added: “The chimp: Brother kid, what are you drinking? can I take a sip?”
