This adorable pup wound up with a massively swollen head that had it looking like the popular comic strip-looking character Snoopy after being bitten by a snake that it apparently wanted to play with.

The beagle’s owner, who was not named in local media in Meishan, in south-western China’s Sichuan Province, was shocked to discover the state of his pet.

He said he had noticed the pup being interested in a snake that lurked around the yard and he tried to keep it away.

But its curiosity apparently overcame it as it playfully approached the serpent and wound up getting bit.

Not too long later, its head swelled up nearly three times its size.

Upon discovering the unwell pup, the owner rushed it to a local vet to get an injection.

Thankfully, he said he had found it in time and the dog was feeling much better hours later.

Phone footage shared later on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, shows the unfortunate beagle apparently regretting its poor decision as it could barely open its eyes from the massive swelling.

Despite sympathising with the pupper, many users could not help but poke fun at its ballooned head.

One user titled ‘silk dream handmade’ commented: “I’ve watched the video twice. It’s cute, pitiful, and ridiculous.”

User ‘Bingqingqiuyue’ said: “It wont’ dare to mess with snakes anymore.”

And ‘Xiaoyao Shen’ said: “The dog got bitten by a snake and turned into an emoji.”
