This is the hilarious moment a penguin struggles to keep its balance as its feet keep slipping on the icy floor.

The unexpected ‘slip-up’ was filmed by an unnamed visitor at Harbin Polarland, the world’s first polar-themed amusement park located in northern China’s Heilongjiang Province.

Then, one of them attempts to walk towards the visitors but begins staggering as the pile of slush and snow on the floor proves too difficult to walk on.

It flops around as its feet keep slipping until it reaches a plastic-made iceberg where it stops to rest before the footage cuts.

The video – shared with the caption: “I could die laughing at the penguins here,” – went viral on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, with more than 1.3 million likes and over 1.3 million shares.

Many netizens were seemingly amused by the sight, and some even questioned if it was a cat in a penguin’s costume.

One user titled ‘Jiu Sanling’ left a comment saying: “Penguin: There are no tiles in my hometown.”

Another user titled ‘bulging’ wrote: “Penguin: The snow in my hometown is soft and thick, not slippery like this.”

And user ‘prettiest boy’ commented: “Why does this look exactly the same as my son learning to skate?”
