Horrified Tube Users Flee Insect Invasion

This is the skin-crawling moment swarms of flying bugs invade a metro station in Argentina causing horrified passengers to flee.

Tube operators closed down the station in Buenos Aires when a Biblical-style plague of insects apparently swarmed out of the tunnels, local media reported on 23rd February.

Video footage of the invasion shows thick clouds of the bugs swarming around lights on the platform.

And as the camera pans to the ground it shows a carpet of the insects crawling all over the floor and tracks.

Rush-hour passengers fled in horror as line operators Emova shut down the Piedras station for four hours to allow pest controllers to clean it out.

Emova denied social media reports that the bugs were a huge swarm of mosquitos but did not reveal what type of insect it was.

Local experts say the region has recently been invaded by mosquitoes due to torrential rainfall in the suburbs creating massive breeding grounds for the biting insects.
