Police in Brazil are investigating after an influencer’s home was broken into and her beloved pet duck was stolen.

Julia Olympio, who boasts millions of online followers, took to Instagram to reveal that her beloved Patolino had gone missing in Mogi das Cruzes on 12th April.

She wrote: “With a lot of faith in God, we will find whoever has my Patolino.”

The Civil Police are now investigating the pet duck’s disappearance as a suspected theft after it went missing from the influencer’s condo.

Julia spoke of her anguish, telling local media: “I treated him like he was my own child. He’s been to the beach and the countryside with me.

“It’s been terrible being without him, it’s such a big void. It feels like I’m going through a nightmare and at any moment I’ll wake up and he’ll be there waiting for me.”

Julia had left her home on 13th April and returned home to find Patolino gone. She does not believe it was attacked by another animal.

She said: “I moved to another house five days ago [13th April]. I chose this house to give him more comfort, there was a pond and I was going to get a female to stay with him.

“Unfortunately, I left the house and when I came back, he wasn’t there anymore.

“We don’t think any animal killed him. If they had killed him, we would have found the body or seen some trace. We think someone took him.

“I’m mobilising to see if we can find out who has him, to try to sensitise them and get him back.”

The influencer got in touch with a company specialising in locating lost pets. However, searches for the missing duck had failed to bear fruit at the time of writing.

Julia said: “I was very desperate when he disappeared. I searched on Google and found a company that specialises in finding pets.

“Three people from the company came with a sniffer dog, we searched in the woods but without success. We found a trace of him, but then it disappeared.

“That’s why we’re concluding that someone took him.”

She added: “There was a company doing a resurfacing job on the street in front of my house when he disappeared. They were contracted by the condo.

“We wanted to know if anyone from the company saw Patolino.”

Julia wrote on Instagram on 18th April: “Every day without you feels like a thousand years… Still, without any information about Patolino and a lot of sadness, I feel like a part of me is missing because it really is!

“Without him here, it’s very difficult, and the longing increases with every passing minute.

“My Lord Jesus, you can move mountains, hear my prayers, God of the impossible, perform this miracle in my life and bring him back to me.”
