Fury At Sickening Torture Of Terrfied Beast At Festival

This is the barbaric moment a terrified young bull is hog-tied and tortured at a vicious bullfight in Colombia.

The hard-to-watch footage was recorded in Caucasia, in the Antioquia region of the department of Cordoba, in northern Colombia, at a corralejas festival, a cruel legacy of the country’s Spanish colonial history.

During the event, which runs from 28th December to 2nd January, spectators are encouraged to take on bulls in the stadium.

As the clip starts, the bull is seen stretched out on ground with a rope around its neck and looped across its front legs while one man pulls its tail.

Immediately one would-be bullfighter comes running in and stomps on the bull’s head as another comes in to drive a spike into the back of its neck.

The rope can be seen slipping off the bull’s front legs but it is still unable to get to its feet because of the noose around its neck.

Other amateur bullfighters gather around and slap and kick the bull as it writhes in terror and agony in the dirt.

One is seen waving a red flag into the bull’s face.

The blade also flies into the bull’s neck again and the one man seems to be trying to stick his fingers in the wound.

As the footage ends, one man seems to be trying to remove the rope from around the injured bull’s neck.

The images quickly caused social media outrage when they appeared on X, formerly Twitter.

Colombian politician Senator Maria Jose Pizarro took to social media to urge lawmakers to speed up talks on a total bullfighting ban.

And she said: “The House of Representatives should NOT further delay the discussion of Esmeralda Hernandez’s bill that regulates the issue. And congressmen should decide to put their humanity ahead of any other consideration.”

She also asked people not to normalise incidents like this during traditional festivals and to show more humanity.

She said: “It hurts me and I hate sharing these types of images. But we must raise awareness and sympathise with the suffering of other beings, and be outraged at cruelty.

“Understand that these types of behaviours degrade us and must be prohibited.”
