Deer Breaks Into Coffee Shop, Spooks Workers Inside

This is the dramatic moment coffee shop workers yell in surprise when a large deer enters the establishment.

CCTV footage shows the female sika deer among the empty tables and walking up to the till inside the cafe in Heyuan, in southeast China’s Guangdong Province, shortly before midnight on 27th September.

Two men standing behind the till suddenly spot the intruder and begin shouting in surprise.

But as they realise the animal is calm and not causing any damage, they shake off the initial shock and take out their phones, which they use to try and snap pictures of the deer.

Meanwhile, the animal that had apparently entered the store in search of food realises there is none, and after taking a brief look around, it leaves on its own.

The shop’s manager later told local media the animal caused quite a commotion with onlookers, but thankfully, no one was harmed.

The clip later attracted widespread attention on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, with many users giving humorous remarks about the incident.

One user titled ‘low altitude flight’ commented: “Deer: I heard that this milk tea is very delicious. I wanted to check it out, but the clerk didn’t provide any service at all and kept cursing me.”

The sika deer (Cervus nippon), also known as the Northern spotted deer or the Japanese deer, is a species of deer found living across East Asia.

They are one of the few deer species that do not lose their spots in maturity.
