The footage shows the moment cops in Canada catch an escaped kangaroo that was seen hopping around town over the weekend.

Police in the municipality of Durham, in Canada’s Southern Ontario, released the body camera footage showing the marsupial’s capture on Tuesday, 5th December.

The capture followed after officers on duty spotted the animal on a rural property in the city of Oshawa and were able to track it for nearly four hours at around 3am on Monday (4th).

They later transported it to the Oshawa Zoo, where it underwent a medical exam.

Durham Regional Police said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “These officers went above and beyond ‘roo-tine’ duty in securing the kangaroo.

“She was returned to the zoo and will make a full recovery.”
