Terrifying Moment Crocodile Speeds Towards Drunk Man Swimming In Lagoon

This is the terrifying moment a crocodile speeds towards a drunk man swimming in its lagoon in Mexico and very nearly makes him its next meal.

The incident took place at the Las Ilusiones lagoon, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, on 16th June, with the footage showing the man swimming in the lagoon in the rain while people film him from across the street.

They can be heard shouting out in fear as the man, who has not been named but who was reportedly drunk, swims out into the middle of the body of water, directly heading towards what appears to be a crocodile.

He then changes direction and begins to swim parallel to the side of the lagoon, causing the crocodile to begin swimming towards him at full speed.

A woman in the background can be heard saying “No! No! No!” multiple times as the man, perhaps sensing danger or hearing one of the warnings locals were reportedly shouting at him, suddenly turns again and heads to the side of the lagoon.

But the large crocodile draws closer at incredible speed before disappearing as it apparently dives while the man removes his shoes and tosses them onto dry land.

He then arches his head back and appears to cry out in pain before appearing to struggle in the water.

Suddenly he lifts himself out of the water in one go and rolls onto the ground over a small wall as the footage ends.

It was unclear at the time of writing if he was injured by one of the reptiles.

Local media said that he had been chased by multiple crocodiles and that the footage was filmed by a family that was celebrating Father’s Day in a restaurant.

Father’s Day took place on 16th June this year in Mexico.
