This bizarre video shows the moment a rat apparently enjoys an afternoon siesta in a tray containing a bowl of noodles and a plate with a deep-fried piece of meat and ketchup as amazed diners watch on.

The rodent can be seen twitching and moving its paws as it peacefully lies flat on the tray at the Tangs Market food court located on Orchard Road in Singapore.

The camera then focuses on a woman pointing out the animal to a friend, as the two appear shocked by the sight.

Two more customers can also be seen turning around to take a look at the pest.

However, despite the unusual situation, customers at the restaurant continue eating their meals seemingly unfazed by the view.

The 48-second-long video reached more than 155,000 views after it was shared on the ‘Singapore Laughs’ Facebook page on Monday, 27th November.

The page’s followers did not hold back from sharing their thoughts on the bizarre footage leaving an avalanche of comments.

Facebook user ‘Qiu Wen’ said: “Jerry having [a] food coma.”

User ‘Casper Leow Yuhan’ commented: “Just watching this is unbelievable, not even mentioning that customers just ate with delight.”

And ‘William Yong’ added: “How did Mickey end up on the tray in the first place?”

When asked, Tangs Market said only that they are investigating the incident.
