The disturbing video shows a biker dragging a dog along a road at full speed after tying it to his motorcycle with a rope.

Smartphone footage shows the poor animal struggling to breathe as the biker drags it along the street in the city of Ghazipur, located in India’s state of Uttar Pradesh.

Another person driving behind the biker can be seen recording the video. It was not disclosed whether the dog survived the incident.

The recording triggered an avalanche of criticism by netizens after it was shared on the social media platform X on 11th January.

X user ‘@SohanLa952594’ said: “Police should arrest the suspect under sections 428, 429 [killing/mutilating animals] of the Indian Penal Code and section 11 [1] of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.

“They should also drag this man in the same manner.”

Then user ‘@ajayrajvarm’ commented: “The man should be punished!”

And ‘@n_c_harsha’ added: “It’s times like this, that make me lose all faith in humanity. I hope there is hell and this person rots in it. Poor animal, so unfortunate.”
