This spectacular video shows a massive flock of birds flying over a neighbourhood while migrating to warmer areas during sunset.

Smartphone footage shows tens of thousands of birds flying over a suburb in the city of Tonging, in China’s eastern province of Anhui, on 9th January.

The woman recording the video, named ‘Xin Baby Mama’ on social media, said: “This is the suburb of Tongling, Anhui, Chenyaohu Town. I don’t know what kind of bird it is.”

She continued: “I was playing with my baby in the yard at night when I suddenly heard a sound. When I looked up, I almost fainted.”

In an interview with social media, she said that the unexpected sight had only lasted for a few seconds before the sky cleared up once again.

The video became a massive hit after the woman posted it on China’s version of TikTok, Douyin, later that day.

It has so far reached more than 24,000 likes and about 44,000 shares. Social media users did not hold back from sharing their thoughts in the comment section.

Douyin user ‘2 Well’s escape from life’ said: “I’m from Tongling and I’ve seen it before. It’s just birds migrating.”

Then another user, named ‘Cat girl’ commented: “I really want to catch one and ask what’s going on.”

While ‘Little Starfish’ added: “Won’t they hit each other?”
