This is the moment a dog brings a stick complete with a hornet’s nest back for its owner, who is relaxing on a sun lounger.

Not surprisingly, the angry hornets then exited the nest and attacked the man, who was not named, leaving him with his eyes swollen and numerous stings on his body.

The incident reportedly happened in Heyuan, which is a prefecture-level city in China’s south-eastern Guangdong Province, on 13th June.

With its long fur, the dog, a Golden Retriever, turned out to be immune to the stings of the insects, but that was not the case for its owner who after getting stung once, was then stung several more times before finally being able to flee.

In the video of the incident, the dog can be seen turning up carrying the large stick with the hornet’s nest clearly visible at the end.

Online commentators loved the fact that the dog appeared to realise its mistake after turning up with its tail wagging, then after noticing the insects exiting the nest, it ran off with its tail between its legs.

Online commentators like ‘Beautiful’ said: “I think it deliberately put it down and then ran away quickly. How smart.”

And user ‘Read’ said: “Revenge of the dog.”

While the user ‘Small Orange’ said: “The dog doesn’t want his owner to play with his phone all day.”
