This is the mutant chick that has been born with four legs in Turkey, with the farmer describing them as “a natural gift from God”.

The images show the chick with its four legs which all apparently work normally. It can be seen standing on its two main legs, with two other legs protruding from it slightly off the ground.

The incident took place on a farm in Ankara’s Haymana district, with Servet Basaran, its owner, saying: “This is the first time we’ve ever seen anything like it.”

The chick is apparently healthy and is just as active as the other chicks, according to local media.

Basaran said: “This is the first time we have experienced such a thing, but there are no problems with its development.”

The chick is now reportedly 10 days old, with the astonished farm owner saying: “It is something natural given by God. He doesn’t have any problems, his feet are developing normally.”

He added: “It continues its normal life and does not have any problems.”

It is unclear what the farmer plans for the chick and if it will be kept as a lucky pet,

Experts note that mutations can be caused by environmental factors, including pollution or pesticides, and by genetic abnormalities.

It is unclear if the chick is able to pass on the condition but it is reportedly mixing normally with the other chicks.
