This is the moment a trapped jaguar roars at rescuers attempting to save it from a hydroelectric plant canal after it fell in and struggled against the current pulling it back.
The incident involved a jaguar found in danger after becoming stuck in the canal at a power plant with firefighters called out to the scene and later joined by environmental authorities in the municipality of Juscimeira in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso on 19th March.
The video shows the jaguar in the water inside the canal, appearing agitated as it struggles to get out and reacts to rescuers during the operation.
Firefighters said the animal was unable to leave the water on its own and was found in a risky situation inside the structure.
The Military Fire Department was called around midday to respond to the incident and found the jaguar showing signs of agitation and physical weakness.
The rescuers initially tried to create a safe escape route so the animal could return to its natural habitat unaided but due to the proximity of settlements and rural properties, the experts changed strategy over concerns for public safety.
Environmental police and the State Secretariat for the Environment joined the operation, along with specialists, including a veterinary team.

The jaguar, which initially resisted capture, was subdued using controlled sedation to allow for it to be rescued safely.
Authorities said the animal will be transported and released in a suitable area far from inhabited regions after the operation.
