Moment Clever Parkour Puma Runs Up Tree To Scale Wall As It Roams Across Rooftops

This is the parkour moment a puma drops from a rooftop onto a street before scaling a tree to overcome a wall and continue across the rooftops of nearby homes.

The animal was filmed by a CCTV camera as it crossed the neighbourhood, reportedly for the third time in less than a week, in the neighbourhood of Sao Pedro, in the city of Esmeraldas, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, on 17th March.

The video shows the puma dropping down from a roof onto the road and attempting to continue along the street.

Faced with a high wall, it runs up a nearby tree, squeezes through barbed wire at the top, and then climbs onto rooftops to carry on moving between the buildings.

Firefighters, military police, and a biologist from the local authority attended the scene to try to capture the animal, but it remains at large.

Officials later said the puma had entered a wooded area nearby, while teams were still searching the area in the afternoon.

Authorities said this was the third sighting since 12th March, with previous reports of the animal moving along rooftops and streets in the same neighbourhood.

An environmental analyst said the animal appeared to be a young male nearing adulthood, with an estimated weight of between 30 and 35 kilogrammes (66 to 77 lbs).

Experts believe it may be the same animal seen in earlier sightings and suggested it had likely left a forested area and struggled to return to its natural habitat.

Officials warned residents not to approach the animal and to contact emergency services if it is seen again.

Online commentators compared its climbing to Parkour, a discipline focused on moving quickly and efficiently through an environment by overcoming obstacles using techniques such as running, jumping, climbing and vaulting.

It originated as a training method developed in France but has since become widely recognised both as a sport and a practical skill emphasising agility, balance, and spatial awareness in urban settings.
