The devastating video shows tens of dozens of chickens lying slaughtered in their coop after they were attacked by the farmer’s puppy.
Smartphone footage recorded by the owner, identified only as Hu, showed him holding the naughty pup by the scruff as it wagged its tail on 12th January.
Hu can be seen carrying the pet around the coop in the district of Yuehu, in the city of Yingtan, in China’s eastern province of Jiangxi, where it slaughtered around 120 chickens while he was away.
Only 13 chickens were left alive after the gruesome incident, Hu told Chinese media, and added that the dog had started feeling sick after the attack.
He suspected that the pup had acquired enteritis, an inflammation of the intestine, found in dogs, especially puppies that can be caused by non-infectious or infectious agents.
The video reached more than 860,000 views on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo, just nine hours after it was posted on 17th January.
Netizens on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, where the recording was also shared, did not refrain from commenting.
Douyin user ‘AS1’ said: “I’m interested whether he would still raise chickens after this.”

“I remember my dad throwing away five or six baskets full of chicken carcasses. His arms were so sore afterwards.”
And ‘Xiaomi_wadadong’ added: “The surviving chickens spend the rest of their lives talking about what happened that day.”
