Jonathan was later found shot dead inside the property along with his pregnant wife Ana Paula, 35, their three-year-old daughter and a 21-year-old domestic worker.
The family’s dog was also found dead at the scene.
Their six-year-old son was the only survivor and was found inside the home without signs of physical injury.
Prosecutors said the killings took place between about 5.30pm and 7.40pm.
Police entered the home after receiving an alert at 11.50pm and found the four victims dead.
Investigators said two of the victims had been tied up and that all four had suffered gunshot wounds.
Diego Sebastián ‘N’ and Gerardo ‘N’ were subsequently arrested over the killings.
Mexican Security and Citizen Protection Secretary Omar García Harfuch said: ‘Faced with a crime of this seriousness, the institutions acted immediately and in a coordinated manner.
‘The two probable perpetrators have already been detained and will be brought before the justice system.’
Authorities said Diego had a business relationship with Jonathan involving the rental of properties through online platforms.
Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry at the home and are examining whether he was able to enter because of his relationship with the musician.
Prosecutors have not formally established a motive and said the investigation remains ongoing.
Jonathan, also known professionally as Honas, helped found Camilo Séptimo in 2013 and played keyboards and synthesizers with the band.
The group has performed at major Mexican venues including the Palacio de los Deportes and Auditorio Nacional as well as festivals including Vive Latino.
Camilo Séptimo later paid tribute to Jonathan, Ana Paula and their daughter, saying: ‘They will live forever in our hearts. Rest in peace.’
