This is the moment a poor dog trapped in an anti-drone net is rescued by Ukrainian border guards after they spotted it by the roadside and stopped their car to cut it free.
The dog had become entangled while near the road and was spotted during a routine patrol in an unspecified location, with the images obtained from the 3rd Border Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevgeny Pikus, also known as the Pomsta Brigade, of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on 17th March.
The footage shows the soldiers noticing the dog and immediately stopping their vehicle. One soldier pulls out a tactical knife and carefully cuts the net, freeing the dog.
The animal remains still with its tail between its legs, as if unsure what to do next, with the border guard gently patting it on the head to reassure it.
The Pomsta Brigade said in a statement (in English) that the “border brigade fighters noticed a dog who was deliberately entangled in an anti-drone net near the road while leaving.”
They added that they stopped, pulled out a “tactical knife” and freed the dog, adding: “The dog is unharmed and ran in his business.” (sic)
The net that had trapped the dog is part of defensive measures used by Ukrainian forces to protect key areas against Russian drones.

Anti-drone nets have been deployed to physically block small unmanned aerial vehicles, preventing them from reaching sensitive positions or reconnaissance zones.
Such measures are becoming increasingly common along frontline areas and near strategic infrastructure, with military sources noting that these nets can stop drones from carrying out surveillance or delivering small munitions.
