This is the moment two police officers use a catch pole to haul a kitten out of a storm drain after it fell into it and became trapped.

The footage was obtained from the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) in the hamlet of Coram, in the US state of New York, on 19th May.
The video shows the officers manoeuvring the animal free from the drain in the early hours of the morning.

A passerby had alerted authorities to the kitten’s predicament at 4:36 am, prompting two officers to attend the scene.
After the animal was retrieved, a bystander transported it to a local veterinarian for a check-up.
The SCPD said: “A passerby reported a kitten was stuck in a sewer drain on Towne Woods Road and Townhouse Drive, Coram, yesterday at 4:36 am.
“Two responding officers used a catch pole and saved the little kitty.
“The Good Samaritan transported the cat to a veterinarian to make sure he lived one of his best nine lives.
“Great job by everyone!”
